Powershred P-58Cs Dissapointing
We bought this device for home use, after some research and after experience of lower cost models which did not seem to last more that 12 to 18 months of home shredding of bills and private information. Unfortunately, whilst lubricating with lubricant sheets we heard a bang and the gearing seemed to fail. Rotors failed to turn although the motors inside could be heard rotating. This device failed within 4 months of domestic use.
Emptying of the shredder requires the removal of the shredding unit, which is reasonably heavy and leaves shredded paper on the floor, unless the area has been prepared to receive the shredded paper.

Biggest con is the small plastic fin on the side of the bin which acts as the activor for the shredding. The shredding blades have miles of life left, the motor is strong, but this small fin broke after only 13 months, rendering the shredder non-functioning.
Also, removing the top to empty the bin is very messy, and probably contributed to the fin breaking off.
