The Fellowes Air Quality
Management Design Process

Step 1:
EXPLORE
Uncover what your space really needs, even if it's not obvious yet.

Whether you're reacting to complaints, planning proactively, or just curious about the indoor air quality in your space, we begin with a conversation. Our Air Quality Experts help set your project up for success by gathering some basic materials and walking you through best practices and discovery questions, often revealing opportunities or risks you hadn’t considered.

From day one, you'll be supported by our dedicated AQM Experts, your direct link to system knowledge, design guidance, and long-term support.

Step 2:
DEFINE
Clarify your goals, constraints, and scope.

This step is all about alignment. We help define what success looks like for your facility, whether that's achieving air change targets aligned to ASHRAE 241, focusing on high-traffic zones, or building toward long-term flexibility, such as scaling your system across additional floors, adapting to changing occupancy, or layering in advanced monitoring over time.

From essential placement to comprehensive coverage, Fellowes helps you define the level of purification that's right for your space. Whether you're addressing occupant concerns, meeting new standards, or planning for growth, we tailor the approach, without overcomplicating your system.

Scopes range from:

Essential: Key congested or complaint-heavy areas

Enhanced: Broader occupant zones

Comprehensive: Entire buildings or campuses

Prescribed: You provide the details, we design fully around them

We also review your goals, conditions, and budget to help define the best plan, now and into the future. This includes installation preferences, aesthetic considerations, ADA-conscious placement when needed, and options for flexible unit scaling.

If integration with a Building Management System (BMS) is part of your strategy, we'll help you determine how the air quality system can complement and enhance existing infrastructure controls.

Step 3:
DESIGN
Bring the vision to life.

Simply share mechanical plans, RCPs, or even hand sketches. The more we understand the layout and usage of your space, the better we can develop a full solution. Our AQM team delivers a customized design and remains actively engaged to refine and finalize it.

We help align stakeholders by providing visuals, data, and talking points to build confidence, along with site surveys when needed. Our team can also coordinate with general contractors and site teams to engineer installation approaches that work with your space's physical constraints. This includes adapting to wall layouts, ceiling types, and other architectural considerations to ensure a smooth, integrated deployment.

Step 4:
IMPLEMENT
From design to detailed work orders.

Once your system design is approved, our Sales Application Engineering team creates the technical documentation and work orders needed for installation. They help ensure your plan is practical, precise, and optimized for real-world conditions, backed by the full expertise of our engineering team.

After installation, we can help commission and configure your system for real-world performance by defining zones, settings, and dashboards around how your space functions. Start with walk through Viewpoint, then guide through integration of Viewpoint data into your BMS, and ensure the system aligns with your IAQ goals from day one. As needs evolve, we support ongoing optimization through monitoring, insights, and modular adjustments. We help you not just collect data, but understand it and act on it with confidence.
