Why use monitor arms?
A monitor arm can significantly improve your workstation setup by enhancing ergonomics, freeing up desk space, and improving productivity. It allows for optimal monitor positioning, reducing strain on your neck, back, and eyes, while also creating a more organized and efficient workspace.
What are the different components of a Fellowes monitor arm?
EX = Pole mounted monitor arm. Provides greater height adjustability. Also, pole mounts make it easier to add more monitors to the existing setup.
F = Fixed arm. These are used to provide extra reach. Ideal for corner desk configurations so user can position monitors closer to them and at an ergonomically appropriate distance.
M = Motion Arm. Provides dynamic height adjustment.
S = Slider. Offers wide lateral adjustment - ideal for aligning monitors side-by-side without pulling them forward and covering up valuable workspace.
What you need to know about your monitor(s) before selecting monitor arm(s)?
Overall width dimensions of the monitor(s):
While manufacturers use the “Display Size”, or diagonal dimension when indicating the size of the monitor, it is the overall width (bezel to bezel) that is important when considering monitor arm configurations. See diagram below.
Weight of the monitor:
When selecting a monitor arm the weight of the monitor stand should NOT be considered.
VESA mount size/pattern:
Fellowes monitor arms include VESA mounting plates that accommodate monitors with 75mm x 75mm or 100mm x 100mm plates sizes. A 100mm x 200mm conversion mount is also available (VESA 100x200-SLV).
A 2.4 lbs weighted 75mm/100mm VESA mount is also available for use with monitor arms with higher minimum weight capacities (VESA-HVY-SLV).
* If the monitor does not have a VESA mount the monitor stand will need to be used.
How do you select the right monitor arm?
1. Number of monitors
Fellowes offers solutions for as few as one to as many as six monitors.

What if I want to add monitors later?
Should the needs of the user change the Evolve, RisingEX, and KataEX series can easily be modified in the field to accommodate additional monitors and changing work environments.
2. Weight of monitor(s)
Fellowes' standard monitor arms in the Eppa, Edge, and Evolve series support monitor weights between 6 to 17 pounds. Kata and KataEX support 4 to 20 pounds. Sena and SenaEX support 2.2 to 19.8 pounds, while Rising and RisingEX support 3.5 to 28 pounds. For heavier monitors, the Edge-Max will support 17 to 42 pounds. The weight of the monitor arms should also include any additional monitor accessories (i.e. speakers, cables, or locks). *Note that weight limits are reduced when a Slider is used. See chart below.

3. Size of monitor(s)
Most users prefer to have their monitors side-by-side as close as possible with no gaps between them. The versatility of Fellowes monitor arms allow multiple monitors to fit side-by-side.
Maximum width is contingent on the monitor meeting the weight capacity of the arms. Configurations that include a slider will provide additional horizontal adjustability, allowing monitor of various sizes to fit together seamlessly.
A single Rising supports a 48” curved monitor, provided it's within the arm's weight limit.
Multiple monitors can exceed 4 feet in total width if each stays within the arm's weight limit.
The important dimension in the size of the monitor is OUTSIDE BEZEL to OUTSIDE BEZEL and not the diagonal dimension.
Example: using multiple 24 in (”21.75” W x 13” H) monitors
4. Size and shape of the worksurface
Deep Worksurface Applications
For applications that require extended reach, Fellowes recommends pole mount configurations such as RisingEX, Evolve, SenaEX, or KataEX configuration with multiple limbs.
Pole mounted configurations provide enhanced flexibility, making it easier to add more monitors and meet future needs.
NOTE: When positioning two or more monitors side-by-side in a 90° corner, the maximum monitor size will be reduced.
Arms recommended for extended reach:

-
KataEX2-FMS
-
SenaEX2-FMS
-
Evolve2-FMS
Shallow Worksurface Applications
Shallow worksurface depths of 24 inches or less, are best suited for monitor arm configurations with fewer limbs. This helps maintain as much open worksurface as possible as monitors are pulled forward and positioned closer to the user. See also, Slider Mount.
Arms recommended for worksurface depth of 24” or less.
